How does the Free Trial Work?

It is completely free. You do not need to give your credit card data, just register with your e-mail address and you will have access to complete mAuthor platform for up to 30 days.

What if I Get Lost?

mAuthor is an advanced, professional Development Platform with many options and useful features. We try to give you all possible help to make your start quick and efficient. We encourage you to spend a few minutes with our introductory First Steps Video Tutorial so you could safe time with your first project.

What Happens When My Free Trial Ends?

If you decide to stay with us and start working with mAuthor you just need to chose a plan that best suits you organization. Don’t worry, we will notify you at the end of your trial period. Even if you do not decide to continue, your opinion matters to us.

What Happens with my eContent Created During Free Trial Period?

30 days Trial should allow you to build your first, fully functional electronic Lesson. So, from the very beginning, try to build something valuable, something that you can show to your colleagues or decision makers in your organization. In case you decide to stay with us all work you created during the trial period will be available for your regular subscription.
In case, due to the reasons that we can not imagine, you do not decide to subscribe, do not worry again. At the end of your trial period you may export your first lesson as a package of widely accepted eLearning standard i.e. SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2014 or xAPI (the Can). So, your time investment is never lost and your valuable eContent will stay with you anyway. After 60 days we will delete your eContent from our servers.

How Can I Pay for mAuthor Subscription?

As our fees are a bit over the regular credit card transactions the bank wire transfer is more relevant to pay for the subscription. Once you select your plan and register (or simply upgrade from Free Trial) we will send you a confirmation e-mail with relevant invoice and instruction concerning the payment details. Do not worry, you don’t need to wait until we receive the payment. We give access to you and your team immediately, so you can start your work right away. We will simply wait for the transfer confirmation from our bank and in case we do not have it until the payment term indicated in the invoice, we will simply ask you first to check on your side, or ultimately suspend your access until the issue is solved.

Do I Need to Pay VAT?

The prices listed above are VAT exclusive. However, VAT will be added only for EU customers who have not provided us with a valid VAT EU number and for all customers registered in Poland.

What happens if I run out of storage?

If you are at the edge of your storage capacity you will be notified by mAuthor. Even if you cross the limit of storage allotted to you, we won’t stop your ability to add more content. Instead we’ll contact you and give you an opportunity to either remove files or purchase additional storage space.

Can I Add New Users?

Of course, we are always happy to add new users. mAuthor’s license is based on registered users so you should take care to remove inactive users from your organization account. If you are growing and need to add additional users, simply contact us. The fee for an additional user will be based on the plan that you have initially selected and calculated proportionally to the time remaining to your license renewal.

What Happens When I Cancel my Subscription?

If you decide to stop using mAuthor but you do want to keep your projects on our servers, there is a reasonable maintenance fee depending on the amount of your Content. Otherwise your content and your projects logs will be removed after 90 days of inactivity.

Do You Offer Non-Profit or Educational Discounts?

Yes, we certainly do. Please contact us with your institution’s information, so we can confirm that you are eligible to get a discount. If so, we are sure, we will find a good offer for you.

Additional Information

Is there a minimal number of users that I need to commit to?

Yes, the Minimum Guaranty Fee for mCourser platform is 25.000,- Euro/year. It means, that you may register up to 20 000 students without additional license fees.

How do you calculate the price? What if I want to increase the number of students?

At the beginning of each annual licensing period you declare at what Price Tier you start and you are charged for the minimum guaranteed fee per annum. Then, at the end of each calendar quarter we check the actual number of users of the platform. If the actual number of users exceeds the number for which you already paid during the current annual accounting period we charge you for the difference. The price per each additional user depends on the Price Tier that you selected and the actual number of all users of your platform.

Example 1

In case you started with the lowest Price Tier and paid 25.000,- Euro as a minimum annual guarantee you will not pay any additional fees up to 20 000 users. Once you cross this limit, at the end of the calendar quarter, we will charge you 1,25 Euro for each additional user above the 20 000 limit, up to 100 000 users. If you cross the limit of 100 000 users, we will charge you 1,15 Euro for each additional user up to 250 000 users.

Example 2

In case you started with the second Price Tier and paid 115.000,- Euro as a minimum annual guarantee you will not pay any additional fees up to 100 000 users. Once you cross this limit, at the end of the calendar quarter, we will charge you 1,15 Euro for each additional user above the 100 000 limit, up to 250 000 users. If you cross the limit of 250 000 users, we will charge you 1,- Euro for each addition user up to 1 milion users.

Are there any additional costs/fees?

The mentioned price concerns only the mCourser’s licensing fee, so on top of it you will also need to pay the hosting fees. As the mCourser platform is based on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), you will be charged the hosting fees according to GCP’s current pricing policy. Calculation method for such hosting services is quite complex and depends on a variety of elements. The elements include required storage capacity, frequency of data access, density of transmitted content data, required internet bandwidth and others. Please note that some types of functionalities like video-based virtual classrooms may result in higher hosting fees. To keep things under control you will be provided with detailed calculations of such costs from the GCP on the monthly basis.

Can I order a specific mCourser functionality?

mCourser is equipped with many customizable functional modules and options which should allow you to configure the platform according to your needs. However, if you are a client of the second Price Tier (or higher), you may request a payable custom development to address your specific needs or extra functionality. If your requirement is in line with our general mCourser development strategy we will provide you with a relevant quotation. Please note that once the custom developments are implemented, they become a standard functionality available to other customers of the mCourser platform.
