SHAPE THE ABILITY OF ALGORITHMIC THINKING

.

I Can Programme is a course created for primary school students.
It is designed for both:

  • individual work – allowing students use this content at home as self-study resources.
  • group work – allowing teachers to use it in class to introduce, consolidate and check the material.

The narrative of the course leads students to the amazing land of Scryptos, where wonderful coding adventures await them. The course has been created on the basis of an educational programming language.

Dicover the new world of adventure

After entering the course student gets the adventure map which presents 10 locations. In every location student can find a new lesson and a mission to complete.

Start the adventure

Each lesson contains a video introducing. The short film informs about the adventure we participate in, the goal we need to achieve and the way we can complete the mission.

Choose your avatar

Participating in virtual classes student decide which role he or she wants to play, choosing from 6 available characters. The chosen avatar can be changed as you like, even while completing the tasks.

Ask Professor Coder for help

Each lesson contains a video explaining theoretical issues needed to solve the tasks. It has the form of a video-call with Professor Coder and a screencast presenting instructions of the educational programming language. At any time, you can stop the video or come back to it while solving the tasks.

Main purpose

After completing I Can Programme cours, students should be educated in algorithmic thinking, which is the first step to acquire programming skills. The material is divided into logically ordered thematic blocks, within which the tasks have been selected according to the difficulty gradation principles. Subsequent lessons shape and consolidate the skills of:

  • input/output instructions,
  • arithmetic, relative and logical operators,
  • iterative instructions,
  • conditional instructions,
  • functions with and without parameters,
  • recursive functions,
  • variables and tables,
  • basic algorithms for searching and sorting data sets.
